Very nice pub! This is a proper pub with proper pub food. Evidently popular too. It got very busy but didn't detract from the atmosphere... it actually enhanced it. I had a fish and chips as I thought this is a good classic pub meal and it didn't dissapoint.

Recommended this by others and it did not disappoint. Magnificent chicken and leek pie with proper chips and delectable gravy. Best sign of all - doing a roaring lunch trade with the "locals". Not cheap, but you get what you pay for!

Very good selection of gin. Huge selection of mainstream and local beverages. Average age of patrons 30 years on the day I visited. Friendly staff.

This is my favourite pub/restaurant in not only Bishops Waltham, but in about a 8 mile radius. Dizzie, supported by Rose, Katie, Peter and the other staff, make every visit a really pleasure...their continual banter with the regulars, shows just how relaxed and happy they are in their jobs. Service is exemplary, food is superb and the support it gets from the local community, is testament to the quality and commitment to be the best. The Barleycorn Inn, is a true village local. The interior decor is quirky, fun and full of Dizzie's little touches. Their garden, complete with secure children's play area, is a huge draw on a sunny afternoon and they occasionally throw a BBQ if the demand is there? Thoroughly recommend this venue for couples, families and friends. Also, they will accept dogs...but must be on a lead. Free WiFi is excellent. Update 20/10/2017. I am totally surprised by the comments regarding... beefburgers not tasting of 'beef'? But more so, by the comment regarding 'gin'. The Barleycorn, prides itself on its gin selection. It is advertised both outside and inside that they currently offer 46 varieties. How can you be unaware that they offered anything less? STILL the best pub/ restaurant in the village.

First time we have eaten here in a few months. Have to say that the food quality was very poor. Someone may say, what do expect for a tenner? I would have a liked a burger that actually tasted of beef. Sorry, won't be going there again.
