  In an nutshell: Good quality/quantity food, (very) bad service. Do not use 'secure' the car park! (See the details below.) + Good quality and quantity of food. - Despite a pre ordered menu, the same members of staff asked whether and what we wanted to order. - Staff was very slow. Water was ordered, there requested amount was not brought - neither were any glasses to drink it out of. - The distribution of food and drink took a very long time. - Despite what is claimed by the website, the car park is not safe! One of our cars was broken into and we later learned that it was not the first time that fortnight. A quick list of the staffs reaction: • no support or help (access to telephone, computer, etc), empathy or interest were provided or offered by any member of staff or management • a refusal to call the police • the injured member of our party (due to shards of glass) was not offered any kind of medical attention or indeed help of any kind (a first aid kit was provided once specifically requested) • initial refusal to log the incident as having occurred • denial of the car park being linked to the hotel The list goes on, but I believe there is little point in listing every last detail. A quick quote however from the website: ‘There is ample secure and free car parking for all hotel guests whilst staying at the hotel [...].’

  Very nice traditional English hotel well located in the centre of Peterborough. Decent size rooms with a shower that tall people fit under! Good size secure car park at the rear, that leads you straight into the hotel. Breakfast was ample and we'll cooked. Choice of coffees would have been good at breakfast and my room was a bit noisy from the kitchen extractor fan, but would stay again.

  Food is really good and rooms are warm and reasonably comfortable. Unfortunately the air conditioning was quite noisy. Bar staff were excellent but breakfast was a little slow.

  Wow a big makeover! Pleasant rustic layout with small restaurant section adjoining the bar. Really nice. Still small but perfectly formed! Menu is very user friendly! Sandwiches we had on rustic bread with ham n mustard, roast pork and stuffing were delicious and was £5.95 with a salad and dressing and crisps. Good value. Cooked options looked like healthy portions. Give it a try it's good value and very welcoming!

  Played here for new year's Eve. Lovely venue, staff were fantastic, bedroom was comfy and food was good (we only had sandwiches at the bar but they were nice and well presented). The guests at the event had a great night and the venue had clearly put a lot of thought into the evening and their package, which clearly paid off. Only tiny niggles were heating being difficult to control in the bedroom, lighting wasn't bright enough to do make up well and the room was a little predictable and middle of the road - not as nice as the communal areas. Certainly nothing bad to report, most definitely more good than bad. I'd stay again if in the area :)
