  Decent menu and range of drinks. Pleasant atmosphere and good service. Excellent fish and chips. The mushy peas, however, were blitzed frozen peas: up here in the north that counts as a crime.

  Food is always spot on here, chef cooks a great steak. Bar can be a bit slow but drinks are good quality and has large selection of spirits and lagers. Always accomodating of our group bookings. Great that dogs are allowed in bar.

  Visited on a cold wet evening so the softly lit bar warmed by the open fire was extremely welcoming. Good range of beer and food. Friendly staff

  Excellent traditional English food - some of the best fish and chips we’ve ever had. The sticky toffee pudding desert was amazing. Great atmosphere and service

  Really properly actually amazing food. The Korean pork and the lobster sandwich were divine. Inventive food without being try-hard. Staff were great too. Absolutely worth the trip out of the city centre.
