::Staff friendly and good. Public areas superb. Room initially ok, however we had not noticed the bathroom ceiling. It had peeled and was bloated due to water from above. The ceiling lights were also loose due to water damage. Also room was dark and lighting was insufficient. Shame really. Reception said we should have told them. It seemed pointless as they must have been aware when they put us in it as the damage was historic. Disappointing because we have stayed there many times before.

::Helpful staff from start to finish. Thank you for giving us directions to the nearest shop after we got lost. Room was clean and welcoming. We had a bulb out but I'm not fussy enough to knock a star off for that. The only problem with the room is the TV is ridiculously low down and on a stand blocked by the chair. Other than that, you can't fault a cheap stay when you're treated like royalty.

::have to give this place the thumbs up on the building. the staff and the comfortable room. however I wasn't expecting to pay for parking as I was a paying overnight guest. also used the spa which also charged for robes which again wasn't a pleasant surprise. I will go again but I'll be bringing my robe. wish it could of been a 5 star rating as most aspects of my stay deserved 5 stars.

::I have been booked this hotel by my company as I'm working in Blackpool for the week, the exterior comes across as a nice place to stay. The reception is a nice, large open space with a period feel to it. The room I was given though is appalling. There are stains on the carpet, dried blood on the bathroom door frame, the paint is peaking from the bathroom ceiling, there is wallpaper peeling from where somebody has tried to stick a patch of wallpaper over a damaged wall. There is also mould on the shower curtain, a badly repaired fist hole in the bathroom door and the gloss on the doors is literally yellow. I guess this hasn't been decorated since smoking was allowed in the rooms. On the plus side there is a pool that is free to use, but it will cost you to park at the hotel which is perfectly reasonable at £6 for 24 hours.

::The hotel is an iconic reminder of the way things should be done. Nothing is to much trouble for all the many members of staff. The food is of a very high standard on the service is second to none. My wife and myself have been really impressed. Thank you for wonderful couple of days the afternoon tea was fabulous. Kind regards Malcolm and Jean Walton.
