  Ideally placed for access into Manchester and getting to and from the train station - only a short walk. Pleasant staff. Room looked great on the surface and we had extras in the room as it was for our anniversary. However, room was looking a little tired and dirty in places. We had booked a bath package which included a bubble bath with our choice of bubbles and a dessert. My husband had to find someone to organise this and then we didn't get to choose the bubbles. It was a bit of a let down.

  The room was so ornate it was beautiful. Great location overlooking the canal. It was quite noisy at night time as it's over Canal Street. Lush hotel though.

  Lovely room nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. We stayed two nights, Thursday and Friday. The Thursday was quiet had a good sleep no disturbance at all. The Friday was quite loud but I expected that for the centre of town. Overall a really nice stay. My husband especially enjoyed the huge bath!

  Love it. I'd describe the place as moderately kitsch. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The location is great. My room has a balcony with a heater overlooking canal street. There is a huge modern TV in the room onto which I can cast from my phone. The bed is comfortable and there is a two person wide bath in the bathroom.

  Without a doubt the nicest hotel we've ever stayed at and a wonderful price on a Monday to boot! All of the rooms are unique and luxurious with exposed brick walls and very tall wood-beam ceilings. Bathroom was extremely clean and nice with a heated towel rack, slippers, and bathrobes. Bed was massive and extremely soft and comfy. The service was kind and accommodating as well. We had an issue with the tv and the front desk man came right away and fixed it. He also brought us a lovely welcome tray with coffee, tea, and some biscuits. Very nice touch! Location is perfect. We were able to walk to the train station in less than 10 minutes and just about everything we wanted to experience was within walking distance, such as the Manchester Art Gallery, the People's History Museum, and some great bars and nightclubs. I would highly recommend Velvet to anyone visiting Manchester!
