::Great pub and hotel nice decor and beer garden this place is the quintessential city center British pub it's located less than a stone's throw from the city center yet it's positioned so it just off the main drag in a quiet side road you so you won't have lots of drunken party revellers passing by late at night or too much city traffic Rail access is short walk or taxi away depending on how much luggage you taking and if you are staying and don't fancy anything off the menu there are a lot of restaurants near by less than a minutes walk away

::Went here to play a gig. The place itself was very pretty and well decorated but when we went into the area we were meant to performing in it smelt of sewage, the owners told us there was plumbing issues but it was ideal all the same. We had to open all the doors and it was FREEZING!

::Where do I begin? We walked in off the street looking for accomodation and the amazing service started here. The rooms are a fantastic modern interpretation of the historic style. We went to the pub for dinner and Ben made sure we wanted for nothing all night. The food was also very good. So good that we returned the following night and had an almost equally good dinner. We were planning to stay for one night but stayed a second night because it was so good.

::Had a burger from their quite upmarket menu. Was quite nice but the burger bun was very greasy which was a bit odd. Otherwise, very nice and excellent, swift service. Good range of drinks on offer and nice surroundings.

::Went in for lunch on a busy Saturday, was attended to by the friendly staff who quickly seated us and sorted our drinks. Good choices from a small but varied menu, the dish that I ordered was cooked to order and I was informed how long it would be. It was worth the wait and proved to be delicious. A great find, not far from the high street. Recommended.
