::Just can't fault the place..... room cosy. Tv actually works 🙂 . Very clean. Lovely staff in both the hotel and restaurant. The food was better than I expected and well priced too. (Big breakfast recommend) On top of that my phone charger failed so they lent me one. Will have to think of an excuse to come back again.

::Booked for 21 people for my daughter's 18th. Lovely little place we have regularly visited in the past. Unfortunately this time we were made to pre-order. This caused no end of problems. Most meals came out burnt and had to be returned. Bill was unfair as no deals were taken into consideration and we were billed full price for everything. Such a shame as it did ruin my daughter's celebrations quite a bit and these unacceptable problems held us up for quite a long time leaving us with the possible added expense of parking tickets from their car park!

::Great location and decent beer. But don't go if you have kids, no matter how well behaved they are. We arrived and were immediately and somewhat rudely told to move to the upstairs section - fair enough as licensing laws often don't allow kids in bars, and I have no problem with pubs deciding they'd rather not have kids in there. But it's not difficult to be polite about it. There's only one way in, so it's not as if we'd chosen to go into the public bar when we could have gone in another way. The table we were directed to had a reserved sign on it, but as it was about half five and we were only going for one drink I didn't think much of it - after all it was the table the barman had pointed us to. Five minutes later a waiter told us we'd have to move to the deserted function room in another building over the road as the table was reserved and he needed it cleared. Again, I understood the situation and mistakes happen, but a basic level of politeness would go a long way. The waiter was simply rude about it when we'd done what the barman had asked. If you really don't want families coming you're going the right way about it! Best of luck turning a profit selling half-pints of mild to old men...

::A nice place. But if you are staying and want to pay for your room using cash make sure that you have photo id as you need it! The rooms are basic but clean, the room I stayed in was very warm. Bathroom was clean. Good location in the centre of town. Close to the shops, the train station is about 30 minute walk or a short taxi ride.

::Quirky! Here in some form since the early 1400's. I had a lovely pint and a toasted sandwich in the bar upon arrival, set the tone for a pleasant stay. The staff, as is common with all of Exeter, are very friendly and helpful. Room was suffice and comfortable. Excellent breakfast on offer.
