::I haven't been to The Cock in well over a year but, having noticed that they had a new menu, I decided to give it another try. The staff were lovely and very friendly. We were served our food quite quickly as there was only one other customer in at that time. Unfortunately, I can't say anything good about the food. It was by far the worst pub meal we have had! I ordered the 8oz steak and requested it be medium. It came out burnt on the edges but this was initially disguised by the peppercorn sauce that it was swimming in. The steak was also rare on the inside. My peas were so crunchy and cold that I'm not entirely sure they had ever been cooked and the chips had a strange chemical like taste to them. My daughter's food was no better. Her order was sausages and mashed potato from the kids menu. The sausages were visibly burnt at the ends and the mashed potato was so dry and spongy that we had to ask for a pot of gravy. Who knew it was possible to get gravy so wrong?! There was honestly so much wrong with the food that I just couldn't bring myself to complain! We left hungry and wont be returning again.

::Great service and great people who work there. Went with family and the staff were so friendly and warm. They alerted us that certain items weren't available straight away rather than risk us choosing it. The food had a quick turn around from order to table for how busy it was, around 25-30 minutes. Food was hot and tasty. Definitely recommend.
