  Nice double bed, warm, like a little set of shalley, no remote in room so I couldn’t watch tv, food expensive I opted for the stake and Ale pie which was £11, I thought fair enough but when it eventually came after I would say 40 mins I was thinking this must be some hell of a pie, it was a SLICE of pie and abit of veg. Very expensive for what it was over priced. No phone signal in area.

  Good country pub with good food. Can be a bit inconsistent. They do inexpensive wedding packages, which seem to be very popular. Friday nights when there's a wedding on can make the small bar area very (very) packed. Probably worth ringing ahead to check if there's a wedding on. I'd recommend booking ahead for food.

  Stayed here on a Tuesday evening in October in one of the little cottages attached to the pub on a DBB basis. The staff made us feel really welcome and their friendliness added much warmth and fun to the stay. We had dinner where the food was well cooked, well presented and full of flavour. There weren't any specials on but the menu had plenty to excite us and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed dinner on what should have been a school night. Wine list is reasonably priced as is the food. All good so far. But it's the rooms that let this place down. The first thing we noticed was that it smelt musky, maybe even a little damp but the bedroom was spacious enough and had a 5ft bed. Unfortunately the mattress lacked quality so when you plonked yourself down you could feel the bed base. The bathroom however could be positively described as being tired. There was mould on the ceiling (possibly causing the musky smell), the tile grout in the shower cubicle had blackened in a number of spots, toilet roll holder was hanging off and the shower base had seen better days so the overall appearance could be negatively described as grotty. In summary food, drink and people would be 4* from us with the rooms 2* so go to eat but maybe stay elsewhere.
