  Recently taken over from Wetherspoons... the menu has improved Spanish influences perfect for summer ... lovely garden plenty of tables.... lovely bar staff... highly recommended.

  Place is absolutely amazing. Service lovely, great and prompt. Jess served us all (approx 14 of us) and she was amazingly profession but had a sense of humour throughout it all!! Only downfall is that this place allows pets (dogs).

  I'd give this place 6 stars if Google would let me. It is theatre from start to finish. Busy when I walked in but all happy. Tremendous staff looking after everyone. A great venue, make sure you call in!

  After a lovely afternoon at the Gatehouse, it's a shame that my pudding looked like it was missing half the ice-cream as if they used a tea spoon to scoop it out. Funny enough when going to leave a review seeing the same pudding with a lot more! Maybe they just ran out? Shame when I told the lady she offered if I'd like some more then told me I'd have to come up and pay for the one extra scoop? Or should I say, the other half of my scoop! After all, it just cost me 6 quid!

  Dreadful food on valentines day. Slow service at the bar to start, sat down in the back dining room, which was quite nice. Starters were fine, chicken wings and cod croquettes were really good, unfortunately they bought us our mains while we were still eating the starters, we decided to not send them back to keep warm as they already looked like they had been hanging around for a while. We were right the paella was completely dry and burnt underneath, the seafood was warm not hot, so definitely couldn't eat them in case of food poisoning. We asked the waitress was it supposed to be like that and she said yes! The other main was meatballs, which were like soft sludge, in a sludgy sauce and that was it, a slight film on top where they had been left to keep warm, so we sent for the manager and explained, he apologised and we ordered steaks, unfortunately they took another half an hour to come, and they were so so, not rested properly as the blood was all over the plate. So we didn't have deserts, and the manager took 20% of the bill, we waited ages to pay, and in the end we had to go and find someone to settle the bill with, there were no staff available! I would not recommend this restaurant, it wasn't that busy and I don't understand how the food was so badly prepared and served.
