::A tad disappointing. The main meals were good and certainly not short on quantity but the deserts were way below expectations. My Steam pudding was full of succulent meat and my wife's meal of liver was cooked well. The vedgtablese were plentiful and cooked nicely but my chips were probably freezer chips and we're lukewarm warm. HOWEVER ... The chocolate cheese cake was awful. It was a lump of wobbly gelatine and a most bizarre colour for chocolate and had an odd mottled bloom. The accompanying chocolate ice cream was a nice flavour but had lots of ice crystals in it. My apple / fruit crumble was nothing like I expected. I suspect the fruit and crumble were cooked separately and constructed on the plate. The crumble resembled dusty sand on a beach and covered the whole of the bowl and rim! The custard came in small jug and was lumpy. We waited half an hour for the desert menu and another twenty minutes to be served our deserts. We only got the menu because we caught the eye of the a the waiter serving drinks to guests. There were lots of young staff but the back restaurant room seemed to get forgotten. In fairness when my wife paid at the bar she was asked if the meal was OK. She told the cashier that the pudding were not great and they were taken off the bill. She was informed that the chocolate cheese cake was home made and not bought in!

::Stayed for two nights, lovely B&B. Clean comfortable rooms and a good breakfast, perfect. Nothing too much trouble and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Dinner and Sunday lunch also good but itโs a very busy pub so booking is recommended. Special mention to Nicola, Andy and Daniel who couldnโt do enough for us and made our stay memorable

::Amazing food, huge portions, always delicious. Fantastic menu with lots of fish choices .really good value for money , staff are always professional. Attentive and friendly especially Andy the owner and the young man who works behind the bar with dark hair can't remember his name but so so sociable . Would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion .

::Not a planned trip (Chinese was closed but in the end was pleased it was ..) I had the Steak & Kidney pudding with veg & New potatoes. Wow how yummy was that. Hubby had the Rack of Ribs. Both really enjoyed our meals. Good if you like value for money as portion sizes are big. Really friendly and helpful staff. Cosy with open fire. Facilities good. Well worth a visit. Will definitely be going back
