First class food, staff and atmosphere. Spoilt the dog too.

Great atmosphere, really delicious and cheap cocktails. Would recommend the raspberry daquiri especially. Food can be a little slow when they're busier but it's worth the wait.

Great place to go and have a coffee whilst studying during the middle of the day. the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Have also been for drinks in the evening at open mic nights, nice cocktails at a reasonable price for a Friday night, would definitely recommend paying the Nook a visit

Not a very nice visit. On first entry, it was very busy. The cramped tables were full of people. We sat on a cushion filled bench towards the rear of the restaurant. As advertised, the restaurant is dog friendly. You order food and drink at the "bar". I had the Nook Nachos and my companion the special meaty Nachos. The food was good, however portion size was massive, and ended up being a waste of money for both of us. Even though they had a very small seating area, the food took a while to arrive at our table. While in the restaurant, I overheard a couple who did not even receive their food after ordering it before we entered the cafe. They were offered a full refund. The music was very loud and stopped every so often, which became very irritating after a while. There is free WiFi available.

Horrible experience. Took about 20 minutes to order on a "self-order" bar, with only 5 people in the place. Ordered the burger, burger was served on a over toasted ciabatta bread making it impossible to bit off without injuring your mouth. We managed to eat the burgers, but I ended up getting very bad food poisoning from the beef burger and/or the Cajun Chicken burger. We saw all the positive reviews and were very excited to explore this "gem" in York, but unfortunately it ended up being the highlight of our trip (not in a good way). Stay away...
