  Brought a Carrera mountain bike for £258, told that it was built in a rush (yes they said that!) because the store was busy. Less than 3 miles down the road after purchase the derailleur misaligned the chain, which snagged on the front gears and twisted. Had to drag the bike back as the rear wheel was locked on the chain couldn't be sorted by the roadside. Had to take the whole bike apart to untangle the chain which had twisted in 2 places. Called up to be told that a chain isn't under the warranty as it's a moving part so damage is classed as wear and tear. Understandable if it was a couple of hundred miles before it gave way, but 3 miles? That's not wear and tear, thats what you get for building it in a rush! Long story short I wouldn't buy anything from there again as it's looking like I'll have to fork out for a new chain and possible gear cassette.

  Went in at Christmas to buy 2 bikes. Staff were not interested at all. I had to ask for help, I asked questions and got one word answers. We left and went to Go outdoors where the staff were great, interacted with my boys and couldn’t do enough for us. We bought 2 bikes and they kept them there until Christmas eve for us.

  I visited there tonight to get a main bulb put into my work car. Alex S was fast and knows what he is doing. Polite and efficient. Thank you very much Alex S. Be always coming to Halfords for anything now at all.
