  It’s a solid curry house but it’s gone a bit downhill recently. The decor has changed, there are far more tables and the acoustics are terrible so you have to shout (as the waiters so often do) to be heard. The style is more stack em high as opposed to the vibe when I last ate here in 2016. Then it was a classy, upmarket choice. Overall, the food was fine but we weren’t so well looked after by the three waiters who shared our table. The king prawns were chewy and tasteless but the overall flavours were delicious. A little more focus on the eating experience might benefit the place. Service 3/5 Food 4/5 Atmosphere 2/5 Value 4/5

  The BEST Indian ever (excluding what I ate in India) ...so in the entire western world! Highly recommended. Great value for money and I trusted the recommendation which was spotted on. Exceptional service. Exceptional service..do not miss this establishment on your venture to York.!

  It was our first visit to this restaurant. We liked the decor. Staff were helpful - since big varieties to choose from the menu. Food was amazing: fresh and well cooked. Halal meat and chicken are served here.

  The Mumbai Lounge looks the business - the staff, the decor, the presentation of the food all look great. With such aesthetics I was expecting something special in the taste department, sadly the flavours didn’t quite match the visuals. In our group there were murmurs that too much salt had been employed, I spent most of the night after our visit slurping water so it seems those comments were justified. Cheekily they squeezed six of us round a table meant for four - thankfully we’re old friends so thighs and elbows rubbing wasn’t a problem. With a few minor tweaks this place could be as good as it wants to be.

  First visit to this restaurant and was unaware booking was advised due to it been so popular. Well i can see why it's popular the staff were friendly and inviting even though we had not booked, the restaurant was busy and we were still found a table. What followed next was the best Indian meal I have eaten everything was fresh and cooked to order, you can even see the chef's at work. Highly recommended I will return every time in the area
