  This places makes me embarassed to call myself portuguese! Had to come here to renew my national ID card and passport to be told I couldn't update my passport without updating the ID card first, so I would have to return later on for that (only 2 consulates ib the UK and I live in Birmingham which is halfway to both (2:30 hour drive at least). Just been again to pick up the card and renew my passport to be told that they changed the rules 2 weeks ago and that I then needed an appointment to renew my passport! I wasn't told this last time I was here and when I tried to go on the website it doesn't work on your mobile phone (great IT skills there....). When I managed to pay for a cybercafe to try and sort it out (because the attendants were useless and refused to help out or to book an appointment there for me) I found out that the appointments are only available for the next 3 months and they are all booked 😅 so I have wasted just on travel and parking over £70 and two days off work (they, of course, don't work weekends) just to get a national ID card that I don't need or use in this country and still have to somehow sort out my passport before my flight in 2 months time! No wonder the country has been in such a bad shape when places like this represent and serve our citizens. Truly appaled by this antiquated and outdated unfriendly system!

  I will say the service in here is good and quite quick to sort any kind of document

  I was hesitant and with very low expectations after all the negative reviews i read. I was pleasantly surprised was in and out and sorted within 15 minutes. Staff were wonderful, polite and very professional. I was advised i would get my passport sent from Lisbon within 5 days. I was at the Consulate on Thursday 8 March and got my passport on Tuesday 13 March. Now that is perfect Service. Keep up the Good work

  Tenho embarque para dia 16 de Agosto. Ao fazer o check in dei conta que tanto a data de validade do cartao de cidadão do meu filho e o meu estao caducados. Entrei em pânico,apensar de ter ainda um mes pela afrente mas mesmo assim ja estava a ver que nao me iriam marcar appointment para tao cedo pois sei que podera levar ate 2 semanas ate um email ser correspondido. Engraçado,que a minha experiência foi a mais inesperada de todas! Comecei a enviar email no mesmo dia que descobri que estavam caducados os ID,eram uma 21h e tal da noite,cinseramente nem consegui dormir direito ao pensar se iria conseguir resolver o problema dos ID. Acordei dia seguinte,fiz tudo normal e decidi mandar mais um email eram umas 11h e tal da matina,quando vou ao meu inbox e vejo la o email do consulado de manchester! Fiquei tao admirada e feliz por ter tido uma experiência magnifica e eficiente ao qual estou muito grata! Aos todos funcionários do consulado,so vos tenho a dizer muito obrigado!😊
