::Stayed the night in late April 2018, and ate dinner in the pub. The room was fine, if a little small. The bed was comfy and linen warm and good quality. If I had one criticism: the bathroom was cold and had some small wear and tear issues. The stay included a breakfast basket, and the pub kindly catered for our plant based diet. Dinner itself in the pub was lovely. Again they had genuine vegan options on the menu, and they were able to make vegan versions of dishes on request. We both had the fried shitake mushrooms for starter, which were very tasty and a generous portion. For main, I had the vegan enchilada (pictured),which again was very tasty and a big portion! My wife had a vegan sausage hotpot, which wasn't on the menu but the staff kindly offered as another option from their "meat free Mondays" menu (even though it was Saturday). All dishes were delicious and we were so full, we didn't need dessert. They offer vegan ice cream also on the menu, which is great for a country pub and a brilliant option for vegans or those with dairy allergies or intolerance. Overall the staff were friendly and very helpful and made us feel very welcome for our brief stay.

::Not quite up to the promises. First we learned that although TasteCard is accepted, you need to call in and reserve at least 24h in advance. The daily special offer looks very good value as does the menu. unfortunately the food does not live to it. Lifeless and not much taste, and even good ingredients did not help.

::What a great place the food was so good. The place and staff are so good. Can't believe I've never been there before, I only live a few miles away.

::Have eaten here a few times now and I have never been disappointed. The food is always great and served fast. The portions are big and the price is very reasonable. There is a good range of beer and cider, which are again, priced very reasonably. The interior is very comfortable, with lots of seating and wood burners on if it’s ever cold. The staff are very welcoming. Happy to call it my local pub and would recommend to anyone passing through or staying in the area.
